Our LINK @ NAIS: San Francisco hiring conference begins tomorrow evening, with our kick-off welcome reception at The W Hotel in San Francisco. This is a unique event, so you may have some questions–even if you’ve already attended one of our hiring events this winter.
If you’re coming to the LINK, here are some answers to all your pressing questions. Still have more? Join us today on Twitter at 4pm EST (1pm PST) and tweet all questions to us using #CSAForum2016.
1. What makes this conference different than your other FORUMs?
This event is unique in that it is hosted simultaneously with the NAIS Annual Conference. For this reason, schools will be coming and going more frequently than they would at our FORUM events. Over two days, school reps will be going back and forth between CS&A interview slots and NAIS sessions.
2. What does that mean for me as a candidate?
This means you should set your expectations for a different kind of conference experience. First, while it is always important to log into the conference module and mark your availability accurately, it is absolutely imperative to do so for this event.
Second, you should be prepared for some downtime at the event, and don’t worry about that! This event lends itself to making things happen on-site. It is likely that many schools will schedule interviews at the conference itself.
3. Will my Placement Associate be there?
It is likely that someone from your team will be there! This is a great opportunity for you to sit down with your associate for an extended period and share the details of your job search with him or her.
4. I’m attending the NAIS conference as well — where is the CS&A event located relative to NAIS?
The NAIS event will be held at the Moscone Center West, just a four-minute walk from our event at the W Hotel.
5. Can I come to the welcome reception on Wednesday night?
Yes! All attendees — both candidates and schools — are welcome to attend.
6. I’m not “a runner” — can I still come to the Fun Run on Friday?
Absolutely; the more the merrier. For each registrant, we will donate $50 to the BASIC (Bay Area Scholarships for Inner City Children) Fund, so we hope you do come! Our Fun Run is supposed to be just that — fun! You can take it as fast or slow as you like. Be sure to register here.
